Subscription vendors view TTU and TTUHSC as separate and independent institutions (i.e. as relatives, but not family). TTU and TTUHSC are peers in the TTU System. Each institution operates under a separate charter from the State of Texas, each has their own president, and each are legally and financially independent. Furthermore, they each serve different student bodies with different missions. Licenses purchased from subscription vendors cover only their respective campus.

The TTUHSC libraries can grant temporary remote access to individual TTU users in special circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
