The TTUHSC libraries do not add course required textbooks in print to the collection either as a purchase or when offered as a donation.

Although some required-reading texts might be available electronically these subscriptions usually have a very low concurrent user limit.

The TTUHSC libraries acquire textbooks in print selectively for the collection if they have some long-term research value or study value, or if they cover a new or emerging discipline. In those cases when a textbook in print is acquired for the collection, only a single copy will be added without any implied commitment to acquire future editions of the textbook.

Even if a textbook in print is part of the library collection, the maximum checkout period for books is 6 weeks.
